Flower mixes that provide extra nectar and pollen

Selected mixes from the Euroflor urban flower range are recommended under the RHS ’Perfect for Pollinators’ scheme. In order to promote nectar rich species, the RHS have branded them as of particular merit with an identifiable logo.

In addition, selecting Euroflor species for their studies, Bristol University led a 2-year UK national research programme, together with universities from Leeds, Reading and Edinburgh, looking at the frequency of visits by pollinating insects. This research programme demonstrated the advantages that Euroflor flowers provide for biodiversity and the urban environment.
They provide a habitat where insects can find sufficient quantities of pollen for nectar.

The flower species in the mixes shown below have been trialed by the Royal Horticultural Society and shown to be attractive to a wide range of pollinating insects, bees in particular.
These trials have been carried out due to a population reduction of pollinating insects over the past few years.
